About Ian Curry

With qualifications in both the education and building industries, Ian started and ran his own construction company for ten years. He then worked in construction recruitment and the broader HR environment.

11 years with a rapidly growing international civil contracting company as National HR Manager provided the opportunity to learn ‘on the job’. The quadrupling of the workforce during this time, through both organic growth and acquisition, required the creation of people processes and resources from scratch, the building of an effective people team and learning how to source, develop and retain enough great people to support both growth and quality.

Today, trading as Fair Advantage, Ian uses his significant hands-on experience to support and empower business managers and leaders to increase their effectiveness, both personally and with their teams. Recognised for his positive but ‘no fluff’ approach, Ian understands that while most people come to work to do a good job, sometimes their leadership and management skills are not well developed. This is where his expertise in working with both individuals and teams is the most valuable for companies looking to improve their bottom line and for individuals wanting to excel.
